Obituary of Evelyn (Day) Clogston;
Colebrook,NH, News and Sentinel,
30 Apr. 2003.
Evelyn B. Clogston, 92, of Pittsburg,NH. died Wednesday morning, April 2 3,
2003 at the Coos County,NH Nursing Hospital in West Stewartstown,NH. af ter a
period of failing health.
She was born in Pittsburg,Coos,NH. on June 27, 1910, daughter of Lyle a nd
Winifred Day.  She attended school in Pittsburg and at the age of 15, w as
married to Clifton Clogston Sr. and raised five children. She lived wi th her
family on Hill Road in Pittsburg for most of her life.
In 2000 she moved from her home to Echo Valley elderly housing in Pittsbur g,
and lived there for one year before moving to the Nursing Hospital.  S he was
known as a very independent woman; her main occupations were to co ok and keep
her home.
She is survived by a son, Clifton Clogston Jr.  a daughter, Virginia Brow n,
both of Pittsburg.; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 10 gr
eat-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years in 1947; a daughter Daphy ne
French, in Oct.1981.
two sons, Keith Clogston in April of 1995, and Edmund Clogston, also in Ap ril
of 2003.  She was also predeceased by seven grandchildren, and one gre at
grandchild.
There will be no calling hours.  A graveside service will be held on Satur
day, May 3, at 11 A.M. at the family lot in the Pittsburg Hollow Cemete ry
with the Rev. Rodney Dobbs of Farnham Memorial United Methodist Chur ch of
Pittsburg, officating.   Donations in Evelyn's memory may be ma de to the
Brown-Fizzell Memorial Fund, C/O Rosemary Mulliken, First Colebr ook Bank,
Colebrook,NH. 03576.
Arrangments are under the direction of Jenkins Funeral Home of Colebrook.
