Obituary: The Weekly Herald, McConnelsville, Ohio, Thursday, August 23, 1923: STOCKPORT Mrs. Fremont Brannon Dead Mrs. Alice Luretta Brannon, widow of the late Fremont Brannon of Stockport, died at the home of her son, Blaine, at Duncans Falls, on Monday at 12:45 o'clock, following an illness of five years duration from spinal and nerve trouble. She was the daughter of Walter and Catherine Newton and was born on October 28, 1858, being 64 years, 9 months and 22 days of age at the time of her demise. She was united in marriage with Fremont Brannon on November 29, 1879 and they resided practically all of their marital life of 27 years in Stockport, where the decedent was well known and highly respected. Mr. Brannon died on December 6, 1906. Surviving are the children: Mrs. L. R. Winner, Mrs. Albert Winchell of Zanesville; Charles, of Alequippa, Pa.; Mrs. Grace Bishop of Kenosha, Wis., and Blaine and Link of Duncans Falls. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Barzilla Newton of Port Huron, Mich., and John Newton, Jasper Newton, Walter B. Newton, Wesley Newton, Sheriff W. M. Newton, Mrs. Lucinda Mosier and Mrs. Amanda White, all of this county. Funeral services were conducted at the Stockport M. P. church by Rev. C. E. Jeffers on Wednesday afternoon and the body was laid to rest by the side of that of her late husband, in the Stockport cemetery. The decedent was the third child born to Walter and Catherine Newton who has passed away within the past two years.
