Hubbard December 17, 2006 Robert Day of Wells, Maine, the fourth son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Wentwo rth?) Day, was born in Wells in 1752.1 He married (Wells, May 10, 1775 )2 Comfort Storer, born March 16, 1754, the daughter of Abraham and Mary ( Bourne) Storer. A joiner, he was living at the time of the 1790 census b ut died before February 20, 1792, when letters for the administration of h is estate were granted to his widow.3 She later married (int. Wells, Ju ly 26, 1795)4 John Fisk of Wells, who was appointed guardian of her two yo ungest daughters on May 20, 1799.5 Children: 1.Elizabeth Day, bapt. November 2, 1777;6 probably died before 1785, sin ce she was not enumerated in 1790 and a younger daughter bore the same nam e. 2.Susanna Day, bapt. June 28, 1778;6 married (int. Wells, March --, 17977 ,8) Benjamin Goodwin. 3.Joanna Day, bapt. May 28, 1780;6 married (int. Wells, September 1, 1798 9) Mark Wakefield. 4.Elizabeth (Betsey) Day, b. after 1780 but before 1785; "a minor upwar ds of 14" on May 20, 1799, when her brother-in-law, Mark Wakefield, was ap pointed her guardian;10 d. before 1850;12 married (Arundel / Kennebunkpor t, July 4, 1802);11 Nathaniel Stevens, b. Newfield, Maine, May 22, 1777; 13 d. after 1850.12 5.Abigail Day, b. 1785-1790;5,12 under 14 years of age on May 20, 1799, w hen her step father was appointed her guardian;5 no further record. 6.Jane Day, bapt.
